Terms of Service

Last updated: placeholder — set on launch.

This is a plain-language draft, not a lawyer-reviewed legal document. It’s structurally complete and covers what a CBSE ed-tech product needs, but a real lawyer should review it — especially the liability, governing-law, and minor-consent sections — before this is used with real students.

1. Who these terms cover

LockIN has three account types: students, parents, and teachers. Every student account requires a parent to have completed identity verification and granted consent first — see our transparency page for what that covers. If you’re a parent, these terms apply to you and, through your consent, govern your child’s use of the service.

2. What LockIN is

LockIN is a study companion for CBSE students: an AI tutor, practice questions, a focus timer, a planner, and progress reports for parents. It is a supplementary tool, not a replacement for school instruction, and nothing it produces should be treated as an authoritative source for exam content, grading, or academic advice — always check against your syllabus and teacher.

3. AI Tutor limitations

The AI Tutor is a language model. It can make mistakes, including confidently stating something incorrect. It is not a certified teacher and its exam-mode marking is a simulation of CBSE conventions, not an official assessment. Use it to learn and practice, not as a final authority on correctness.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account or let someone else use it as you
  • Attempt to access another student’s, parent’s, or teacher’s data
  • Use the service to cheat during an actual school exam or assessment
  • Upload content you don’t have the right to share, or that’s abusive, illegal, or harmful
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or overload the service

5. Your content

You keep ownership of anything you write, upload, or ask the AI Tutor. You give us permission to process it as needed to provide the service (e.g., sending your question to an AI provider to generate a response). See our Privacy Policy for exactly what’s stored and for how long.

6. Account suspension and termination

A parent can pause or delete their child’s account at any time from their dashboard. We may suspend an account that violates these terms, with notice where practical. You can delete your own account at any time from your Profile page.

7. Limitation of liability

LockIN is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for exam outcomes, academic results, or decisions made based on AI Tutor output, readiness estimates, or any other feature of the service. [Placeholder — a real liability clause needs jurisdiction-specific legal drafting.]

8. Changes to these terms

We’ll update this page if these terms change materially, and — consistent with our consent model — ask again where the change affects what a parent originally consented to.

9. Governing law
